About Me

Maria Pirita, CVPM

I’m Maria Pirita, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, DiSC Certified Practitioner, Elite Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional, speaker, veterinary leadership educator, and lifelong believer that work can be both productive and deeply human.

I’ve spent more than a decade in veterinary medicine and more than 20 years in leadership, with experience ranging from the front desk to marketing, hospital administration, practice management, business development, coaching, and professional education. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and working with veterinary professionals and leadership teams across the United States, Latin America, and Asia. Today, I speak in both English and Spanish on leadership, communication, accountability, team culture, conflict, and the wonderfully complicated human side of veterinary medicine.

As a Mexican American and bilingual speaker, I’m especially passionate about creating spaces where people feel like they belong while still challenging them to grow. My approach combines practical management experience, leadership science, cultural awareness, storytelling, and tools people can actually take back to work and use on Monday morning.

Outside of work, I am a serial hobby collector. At any given moment, I might be running, strength training, attempting a new recipe, working on something creative, learning about an entirely unrelated subject like aviation, hosting friends, studying my Bible, hanging out by the pool, or dreaming up my next project. I love animals, obviously, and my house reflects that with dogs, rabbits, and a Quaker parrot all part of the family. 

Mostly, I’m endlessly curious about people: how we communicate, what motivates us, why teams work the way they do, and how better leadership can make veterinary medicine a better place to work.
